Lori “Lala” Ortega
Alamosa resident Lori “Lala” Ortega, 60, went to her heavenly home June 1, 2021.
Lala was born on January 10, 1961 in San Francisco, California to Lucy LeBlanc and Steve Ortega. Her mother Lucy and father Joseph Montoya raised her in Monte Vista, Colorado. She lived most of her life in Denver, where she met her soul mate Maria Rodriguez. They spent 25 wonderful years together and were united in marriage December 5, 2018. She enjoyed spending time with her family at family get togethers, watching the Broncos game, BBQs, playing pool, and going to the mountains. Lala will be remembered as a humble, kind, and gentle, but firm soul. She showed us to love all, its ok to laugh, and to dance and sing if we felt like it. She will be missed and forever loved; never forgotten.
Lala is survived by her wife Maria Ortega of Alamosa, CO; her children Elijah James Ortega of Alamosa, CO; Eva Rodriguez, Jamie Carrillo Salazar (Anthony), Justin Carrillo (Nadine), Alexandra Carrillo (Polo), all of Denver, CO; sisters Yolanda Ortega and Juanita Montoya (Mauricio) both of Monte Vista, CO; brothers Michael Ortega and Timothy Montoya both of Monte Vista, CO. She was blessed with numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Lala is reunited in heaven with her parents, Lucy Leblanc, Joseph Montoya, and Steve Ortega. Her sister Cathy Rivera, brother Rodney Ortega, niece Angela Ortega, and nephew Jose Jr Acosta. Her grandparents Isabel and Manual Leblanc and Uncle Steve Leblanc.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday June 12, 2021, at 1:00pm at Lariat Community Baptist Church, 403 Lincoln Avenue, in Monte Vista Colorado.
