Jasmine Jennifer Garcia
March 6, 1997 – October 31, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jasmine Jennifer Garcia, age 28, of Monte Vista, Colorado. Jasmine was the beloved daughter of Gilberto Arturo Garcia and Josefina Guzman. She was born on March 6, 1997, in Alamosa, Colorado, and left this world on October 31, 2025.
Jasmine had a deep love for cleaning, listening to music, writing in her journal, and reading her Bible. She cherished spending time with her nieces and nephews, her siblings, and most of all, her mother. Jasmine was a fierce and determined individual who pursued her goals with unwavering strength. Her love was wholehearted, and her loyalty unmatched.
Jasmine had a heart of gold that shone as brightly as her beautiful smile—one that could brighten anyone’s day. Her honesty, though sometimes blunt, was always genuine. She had a way of putting others before herself and always kept it real. Her sense of humor brought joy to those around her, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Though she had no children of her own, Jasmine leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, kindness, and compassion.
She is survived by her devoted mother, Josefina Garcia of Monte Vista; sister Jessica (Michael Irvin) Soto of Monte Vista; and brother Gilverto Arturo Garcia of Monte Vista. Nieces Alyssia Soto, Tahlya Soto, and Aleynna Garcia; nephews Joshua Soto, Daniel Garcia, and Joseph Garcia. Aunts Maria Elena (Larry) Espinosa of Center, Lorraine (Wayne) Madrill of Colorado Springs, Inez (Rick Santistevan) Pacheco of Pueblo, Bebe (Randy) Archuleta of Taos, New Mexico, Tillie Garcia of Center, and Jenny Zamora of Del Norte.
Uncles Phil Garcia of Del Norte, Jose (Maria) Guzman of Center, Jesus (Monica) Guzman of Ayotlan, Jalisco, and Samuel (Ana) Guzman of Canoga Park, California. Her nino Hilario (Maria) Garcia of Center, as well as countless cousins and friends, also survive her.
She is preceded in death by her father Gilberto Arturo Garcia; brother Juanito Garcia; paternal grandparents Juan Antonio and Tonita Garcia; maternal grandparents Lino and Maria de Refugio Guzman; aunts Eulalia Gutierrez (her nina), Virginia Garcia, and Eileen Garcia; uncles Michael Garcia and Jessie Garcia; as well as numerous cousins.
A private viewing will be held at the family’s discretion.
A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista.The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, followed by inurnment at Monte Vista Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Strohmayer’s Funeral Home of Monte Vista.
Jasmine will forever be remembered for the love, laughter, and light she brought into the lives of those around her.
