Obituary – Elvis Troy Chacon – 11/3/2025

Elvis Troy Chacon entered this world feet-first on August 7, 1958, and was welcomed by his Creator on November 3, 2025, at the age of 67.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Elva Florida Maria Chacon; his father, Leroy Chacon; his first-born son, Isaiah Mathew Chacon; his uncle, Tony G. Chacon; his aunt, Nora R. Chacon; his nephew Jose Luis “Chevis” Fernandez Jr.; and his former brother-in-law, Bobby Salazar.

Troy is survived by his son Zachary M. Chacon; granddaughter Saleen Chacon (Renee Chacon); his siblings Linda Fernandez (Jose Luis), Tyler Rick Chacon (Rosalie), Sharon Chacon (Yvonne Lopez), Venus Jessica Chacon, and Lenora Chacon (Loree’ Harvey). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Troy was a remarkably skilled and self-taught man who dedicated his life to his craft as an auto and diesel mechanic. His hands were equally talented in carpentry, plumbing, and all-around handiwork. In his free time, Troy enjoyed leatherwork, jewelry-making, assembling model cars, and working on puzzles. He loved music and dancing, but most of all he cherished spending time with his family and friends.

Troy’s life was one of quiet strength, creativity, humor, and devotion to those he loved. His hands built, repaired, and created, but it was his heart that gave warmth, laughter, and love to everyone who knew him. Though he has left us, his spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of his family and friends.

Internment:  Monte Vista Cemetery, Monte Vista, Colorado – Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.

Reception:  Lariat Community Baptist Church (Iglesia Bautista Agua de Vida), 433 Lincoln Ave., Monte Vista, Colorado – Saturday, November 22, 2025, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
