Esequiel Garcia, 38

Esequiel “Zeke” Garcia was born in Monte Vista, Colorado on January 16, 1984, to Andres and the late Marie (Samora) Garcia. Zeke, attended and graduated from Monte Vista High School in Monte Vista, Colorado, and practiced many trades throughout his short life, one probably most favorite being a Blaster for PSC out of Pueblo, Colorado, where he made many lifelong friends. Anyone that knew Zeke knew he was your ever-loving handyman that had dad jokes and good life advice. You could always count on him to help you out. You would find Zeke outside tinkering on his truck, helping someone work on their car, or dreaming up his next entrepreneurial venture. Zeke was the type of guy that made a friend while washing his hands in the restroom, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone he felt needed it more than him. He is survived by his loving wife Samantha and his amazing children Marie 15, Ezekiel 11, Elijah 8, and Emma 16 months. Zeke made his return to the San Luis Valley to raise his children in a smaller community. Here they would get to enjoy family, make new friends, and re-establish life-long relationships that will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his loving and guiding Angel, his Mother Marie Garcia along with Grandmothers Lola Samora and Victoria Garcia. He is survived by many other loving family and friends including his Father Andres Garcia, brother Dominic (Jennifer Barela) Garcia (Pueblo, CO), sister Lola (Brandon Cantu) Garcia, and younger brother Israel Garcia of the San Luis Valley. His In-laws are Ruben and Rachel Gutierrez of North Platte, Nebraska along with siblings’ in-laws Sadie, Stephanie, Emilio, and Esperanza. He also leaves behind special bonds with his nieces and nephews Tanisha (Brian) Garcia, Dominic (Miranda) Garcia and Esperanza (Maurice) Garcia, Nathaniel and Nicholas Cantu, Javier, Mario, and Bella Garcia and Jacob Naranjo. And of course, many other extended family members. As, Zeke reminded us from a recent note, trials are a tool to push us to trust God with all our hearts. God is still there no matter what. Zeke will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Viewing will be held from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Saturday June 18, 2022 at Strohmayer’s Funeral Home in Monte Vista, Co. Arrangements in care of Strohmayer’s Funeral Home.
