Delano Esquibel

Delano Esquibel passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 in La Jara, CO. He was born in San Pablo, CO on March 4, 1933 to Justo and Otilla Esquibel. He grew up and attended school in San Pablo, then married Rose Marie in San Luis in 1957. He moved to Denver, CO in 1965, and then moved to Hayward, CA in 1981, before settling back in the San Luis Valley in 1996 for good.

Delano is survived by his beloved son Lawrence and daughter Shirley. He had 3 grandchildren, Jesse (Brianna), Keith, and Marissa, and 2 great grandchildren, Easton, and Atlas. He is preceded in death by his brothers; Nassardio, Filiberto and sister; Elsie.

Delano served in the Air Force in 1953 at Amarillo AFB, Texas, where he received the badge of National Defense Service Medal while in

Duty of the 358th Bomb Squadron.

Delano developed his trade while attending Mechanical Training. He made his career as a skilled top Auto Mechanic with Sears Roebuck & Company and proudly retired in California from Big O Tires.

His hobbies were working on cars, fishing, off roading, camping,

collecting firewood, gardening, and picking pinon. Delano’s family and friends have many loving memories of him, and he will truly be missed. May he rest in peace.

Delano’s final resting place & burial service will take place in Denver, CO on Tuesday, April 13th, at 11:30 am with Military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
