Tarry Martin Maxson, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on September 16, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born in Bay City, Michigan, Tarry built a life in the San Luis Valley, where he was known for his dedication to family, hard work, and quiet strength. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, a service he carried with honor throughout his life.

A man of many skills, Tarry enjoyed working with his hands and found joy in woodcarving, gardening, and time spent outdoors. He also shared his love of nature and wildlife, fishing, and time outdoors with his children and grandchildren.

Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, a caring father, and a proud grandfather. His love, guidance, and presence will be deeply missed but will live on through the lives of those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Kelly, Clay, and Glen; his grandchildren Marisa, Braden, Ethan, Lauren, and Katelyn, and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron (Mike) Maxson and Corrine Ostrom and brother, Tim Maxson.

A service to honor his life will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd, at 1 pm, at the Colorado State Veterans Center in Monte Vista. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund.
