Leroy Gilbert Maestas
July 7, 1954 - January 13, 2022.
Born to Gilbert and Lydia Maestas in La Jara, CO. Leroy gained his angel wings on January13, 2022. Leroy is survived by his wife, Donna V. Maestas, son Josh (Jessica) Maestas of Monte Vista, CO, daughter Sheena (Marcos) Diaz of Alamosa. Granddaughter RaeNayea Diaz, Brother Gerald Garcia of Monte Vista, CO brother John (Kathy) Maestas of Monte Vista, CO, sister Cindy (Eric) Gustafson of Creede, CO, Aunt Cecelia (Andy) Montoya of La Jara, CO, Aunt Esther Martinez of Alamosa, CO, Uncle Levi (Norma) Medina of Espanola, NM, Bernal (Connie) Maestas, Frances (Roy) Hall of Fountain, CO, and many more family members. Preceded in death by his son Jeremy Leroy Maestas, Mother Lydia Maestas, Father Jose Gilbert Maestas, Sister Patricia Maestas, Uncle John Maestas. Leroy was quite the guitar player who spread his unique sound all over the San Luis Valley and northern New Mexico. He had a passion for cars and spent much of his time building cars of his own. He loved watching the Broncos and enjoyed endless walks in the mountains. Leroy enjoyed late night campfires and was a great storyteller. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Leroy was the type of man who would accept others as his own family. He was always someone you could depend on. There will be an intimate celebration of life with close family and friends. We as a family would like to thank the community for coming together for Leroy in the end.
