Delilah Jean Moore 87 passed away at the Monte Vista Estates in Monte Vista, Colorado on November 26, 2020. She was born to Lorens and Bernice (Lakey) Lebeck on August 14, 1933 in Matheson, Colorado.
She married Delbert “Jinx” Moore on June 3, 1951. To that reunion three children were born, Barry Moore, Timothy Moore, and Connie (Moore) Strohmayer. They lived in Westminster, Colorado, Stratford, Texas and then moved to Monte Vista, Colorado to be closer to family.
She worked at the Stratford Post Office for many years, plus a few other jobs while raising her family with Jinx. She enjoyed her family, friends, crocheting, baking, playing the piano and her special dog Gigi. Her favorite saying was “YOU PILL”—that meant she loved you!
She is survived by son, Barry Moore, Dalhart Texas; daughter, Connie (Rusty) Strohmayer, Monte Vista, Co., grandchildren Melissa Moore, Ann Arbor, Michigan; Tim (Trinity) Moore, Texhoma, Oklahoma; Taz (Stacy) Strohmayer, Round Rock, Texas; Tasha (Nathan) Mausbach, Omaha, Nebraska; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by her mom, dad, husband Delbert, son Timothy Moore, sister Doris Noah, daughter-in-law Beth Moore, granddaughter Zoey Ann Mausbach.
Viewing will be held at Strohmayer’s Funeral Home on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm in Monte Vista, Colorado. Graveside Services will be held at the Simla Cemetery on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 1:00 pm in Simla, Colorado.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Monte Vista Estates for recreational supplies in care of Strohmayer’s Funeral Home.
