Bobbye (Jan) Janette Pierce, 78, of Creede Colorado, passed away on January 12, 2020, with her loving husband by her side.
Bobbye was born on June 11, 1941, to Joseph Hamilton and Bobbye Jones in Lawton Oklahoma. Bobbye married the love of her life, Jim Pierce, on June 20, 1958. They were married for 61 years.
Bobbye enjoyed gardening and landscaping. Mrs. Jan, as the kids called her, loved teaching Sunday school. Her passion was teaching Sunday school and reading books to the children at school. Over the years Bobbye and Jim sent many kids on mission trips to Glorieta Adventure Camps in Sante Fe, NM.
Bobbye is survived by her husband, daughter Andria (Tom) Davidson of TX, Angela Horacek of CA. Granddaughter Stephanie (Michael) Cartwright of TX, grandson Eric (Kasey) Davidson of TX. Great Grandchildren Pierce Rivers Davidson and Camille Tyler Davidson, Sister Kathy Derr of TX.
Bobbye was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Creede Baptist Church in Creede Colorado. Burial to follow at the Creede Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a Scholarship in Bobbye’s Memory has been set up through the Creede Baptist Church 600 La Garita Street, Creede, Co 81130, to send kids to the Glorieta Adventure Camp in Sante Fe, NM.
