Monte Vista resident Douglas Gene Robins, 73, passed away on November 2nd, 2019. He was born on September 14, 1946 in Monte Vista, CO.

Dougie may not have been able to communicate through words, but the way his face lit up the room when he smiled let you know you were loved. He loved his Broncos and knew when they were doing well and when they weren't. He was loved by all who met him and were able to interact with him.

He is survived by his brother, Jim Ennis and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ramah Robins Zimmer; Grandparents Claude and Iva Robins; Stepfather Bob Pryor; Brother Bobbie Pryor; Aunts Barbara, Mae, Annie and Debbie; and his Uncles Harold and Kenny.

Dougie had numerous friends at Monte Vista Estates Nursing Home and his family would like to express their gratitude for all the loving care they provided him throughout the years.

A memorial service will be on Friday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Strohmayer's Funeral Home at 205 S. Broadway, Monte Vista, CO 81144.
